I participated in the SRA program undertaken by HDU in February 2019. A total of 13 people in our group conducted a one-month research in the United States. This is a program that you can learn different aspects of the United States through social research and live with local Americans to experience the real American life. It is a wonderful journey for me. And I’d like to share with you my unforgettable experience during the program.
Study part
We experienced a week of college courses in the CBUSB. Teachers in America are more lively and funny than teachers in china. We took several courses such as time management course and innovation encouragement course.
We went to the police station to do social research and took a picture in an abandoned prison.
We visited a water treatment company to learn about the sewage disposal system.
After the field research, we had a focused discussion and report.
Living part
We lived with our host family and they are nice and warm-hearted. They invited us to the cinema and theme park on weekends, we had very a great time.
These are the gifts from our American mom.
At first I thought it would be hard to adapt to living in a completely strange environment, but my host family gave me a great sense of security. It was a wonderful time to spend with them. Our group also visited a lot of scenic spots in America. We went to Hollywood, Universal studios, the gold gate bridge and etc.
I think it's a great opportunity to broaden my horizon and learn new things. Each project in the program not only improved my teamwork ability, but also made me more independent and confident .I learnt more about America and improved my spoken English. I am very grateful to HDU for organizing such an excellent program.
